Laney has a past, one that haunts her even to this day, she knows what she did was right but it doesn't stop the guilt and hurt over what happened four years previous. Going to University in Jacksonville was never her plan, she had wanted to go to California but things didn't turn out the way she planned. Coming back to Jacksonville for his best friend's wedding, he never planned on see Laney again but seeing her after four years, he decides that this time she wasn't getting away so easy as the first. Although, when wires get crossed and things start to get revealed, hearts get broken and the truth comes out, Laney starts to realises that things will never be the same again.
I thought that Laney and Lachlan were such as good match, with her confident nature and his determination to get the girl of his dream, make you realise that what they had wasn't a typical high school romance, it was the real thing. I loved her best friend Heather, she was so quirky and fun, she was the perfect best friend for Laney. I was so surprised how quick I read the book, it was so easy to get hooked and then next thing I knew I was on the last page, it was such a perfect read that you could read it in one sitting. I can't wait to the next book, in this new adult series.
Where You Are is a bitter sweet novel about love, friendship, life and the past. With its characters, storyline and realistic situations, you can't help but fly through this story that will make you laugh, sigh and smile as you get to know the characters and fall in love with them and their story.
If I had to sum this book up in three words, they would be Realistic, Captivating and Daring.
