After reading the blurb on the back of the book, I didn't know what to make of the Wolf Bride though after reading the first couple of pages I was enthralled by the story that was set in the past and the history that is included in the Wolf Bride.
The story is set in the narrator perspective, so you get to know all the characters in the book.Wolf Bride is set in 1536 around the time when King Henry the eighth was married to Anne Boleyn. At this time Anne Boleyn had many ladies in waiting, one of these is Eloise Tyrell, daughter of Sir John Tyrell, though when Eloise's father agrees for his daughter to be married to Lord Wolf. Though it is very clear that Eloise is not happy with the agreement but she has no choice in the matter, she must marry Lord Wolf.
Though upon meeting Lord Wolf, Eloise thinks he is arrogant and not her first choice no that would be Simon a handsome young man who lives in the court. Though it soon becomes clear that everything Eloise wanted in her life, would not ever be happening so she will have to except that Lord Wolf is the best husband for her. Even if she doesn't believe it herself.
So when Eloise and Lord Wolf share their first kiss, everything changes for Eloise with that one kiss. Though by getting married to Lord Wolf, Eloise has to move back to the hometown, upon arriving you get to meet her younger sister Susannah who is next on her father's arranging marriage list.
Lord Wolf has always had a little flame for Eloise, but it wasn't until she was older did he finally ask her father to marry her. Eloise is even more unhappy about marrying Lord Wolf due to the fact that she has never been with a man before in her life. So when the time finally comes, the new sexual experience brings out the desire that neither one of them thought they had.
As the story progresses on you get to know more about the life Lord Wolf had in fighting in the King's battles, how Lord Wolf wants a heir to his throne and the feelings that Eloise has developed for Lord Wolf. It contains erotic themes through most of the book which adds to the passion and desire that develops throughout this amazing gripping novel.
Follow this amazing tale of love in the Tudor Court, as Eloise and Lord Wolf meet for the first time, travel across the country all the while trying to avoid the dangerous criminals that lay on the deserted road in England, how desire, lust and love begins to show even when you have no idea how you feel about the other person and how Eloise finally learns to trust that maybe change is a good thing after all.
If I had to sum this book up in three words, they would have to be Daring, Thrilling and Passionate. This is an amazing story that shows a passionate love affair during the Tudor Court in England. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves Elizabeth Anthony or Stella Knightley.
